The newly-built railway from Boten to Vientiane starts from the border port of Boten between China and Laos in the north, passes through Nanta, Udomxay, Luang Prabang and Vientiane Provinces in the north of Laos to Vientiane City, the capital of Lao People's Democratic Republic, with a total length of 427.201km. China railway technical standards are adopted, and Chinese enterprises are responsible for engineering construction.
